A Great Week at GWS2022

Why did 1400 global mobility professionals converge at the Global Workforce Symposium (GWS) in Las Vegas?  Because it’s a great week of learning, reconnecting, and celebration for our global team and our industry associates.  Here are a few highlights the Dwellworks crew compiled from the week:

1. Public Policy Forum

We were proud to see our General Counsel, Walter Dannemiller join industry superstars, Jeff Margolis and George Powdar to catch us up on the latest in industry compliance and data privacy regulations.

2. Relocation Industry Leaders

We received stellar insights from Lynn Shotwell, WERC; Katrina Helmkamp, Cartus; Kathryn Cassidy, Altair; Joleen Lauffer, Aires, talking about the challenges in global mobility post covid:  building back teams and talent, accelerating technology investments, activating updated WFH and return to office plans, expanding training for new talent.  Inspiring to see the calm confidence of these leaders on display.

3. Insightful Sessions.

Many sessions discussed customer experience, expanded and diverse mobility populations, employee well-being, and innovation in technology.

We valued the front-line feedback from Amazon on Customer Obsession with a Multinational Workforce.

4. WERC Industry Update and Awards.

A conference highlight, this session celebrated the inaugural year of Upward Mobility, an industry-wide initiative to partner global mobility companies with colleges and universities and build our intern and early career talent pipelines while reaching out to underrepresented populations.

The project was jump-started by Andrew Walker at EY and Bob Rosing, Dwellworks CEO, and was quickly taken up by 25+ global mobility leaders and their operations.

Bonus Takeaways and Personal Connections

A friendly dinner with colleagues and key suppliers from Dwellworks Living corporate housing included catching up on learnings and feedback from the summer and looking forward to 2023 volume and an early start to intern season…plus a lot of laughs.

We learned so much from client 1:1s...ongoing needs in competitive rental markets, policy adaptations for new populations, expanded coverage in new locations, and ‘normalizing’ our ecosystem after the surge of ’22.

And, of course, we enjoyed being with our Dwellworks colleagues from around the world: Andrew Horvath, Andrew Scott, Andria Lamantia, Charles Naso, Debbie Woodley, Dima Lorenz, James Conigliaro, Lynda Lescault, Maura Carey, Meredith Kennedy, Walter Dannemiller.
